I bought one for £1.99 today but its way too light and doesn’t feel as it’d swing very well. I’m also pretty heavy on my feet and don’t think I’ve ever jumped in the past year… I’ll give it a go tomorrow though.

  6. turbo72577 says:

Is that really true? I’ve been thinking about jumping as a regular exercise and need to lose the belly.

Well exercises work out your muscles about some percentage of work outs increase your muscles bone growth so there is a chance you can gain an Inch or too but it depends on your diet and all that stuff.

jumping rope is amazing! The only thing I disagree with is all you need is a plastic rope with some wight (7dollars) I hate leather ropes(too light) and I have a weighted rope which is crazy(work up to this one). I’ve tried everything and the plastic is the best, pound for pound. I’m a crazy rebounder now

  18. dedguy444 says:

This is good stuff. I recently started running/jogging, but hated it. Now, I think I’m going to go to Sports Authority, buy myself a jumprope, and start jump roping.

I Agree With MusicandOutdoors Down there… I USED to be a frequent runner until guys started telling me that its just wasted time and i need jump rope and blah blah blah cuz its faster and what not… Ive tried it… Results are amazing… but now im too lazy to run… Running Is For the hardcore. Rope Is an Easier Way Out and an Excuse. For Good Fast Results… Jump Rope… For The Love Of Fitness… RUN!!

240 lbs to 218 solid muscle in 2 months =) thats my story and im loving it!

isnt it better to get a leather skipping rope with wood handles and ball bearings?

  21. GordonFreeman70 says:

It kicks ass after the first week of jump-roping, most people at my school think jump roping is a waste of time, well, you know what happened to me after 2 weeks? i lost 12 pounds. I can practically just run around and jump with the jump rope its so much more fun than constantly running, cause your mind is on something else.

  22. JAYBOi2o9 says:

i just read back and saw a post that said 15 minutes of jumprope burns approx. 200 calories. Can someone tell me if thats accurate?

  23. JAYBOi2o9 says:

how many weeks/months did it take for u to notice that? im planning to get one cuz i hate running… tore my ACL in highschool

  24. bobzilla5 says:

can jump roping help jump higher?

  25. thedevil96 says:

that means you’re doing it right :)

  26. thedevil96 says:

    till you get tired

  27. 300MUSIC says:

    i WANT a jump rope

  28. jumpincrazy says:

Stand on the center of the rope; the ends of the rope (which are below the handles) should reach about 6″ above your waist on each side.
