Well if your reading the book you should know that alcohol will keep you from burning fat as your body will use alcohol as an energy source until it is out of your system, and if you consume alchol with sugars or high yeast then the carb content will be high.. some spirits like vodka and brandy contain no carbs.. mich ultra bottled beer has 2.5 carbs per serving and some people drink white wine, but alcohol is not usually permitted until phase 4..
